I have heard people describe their relationship with yoga like being struck by lightning. My relationship with yoga got off to a slow start. Many years ago, a dear friend, whose back pain was slowly disappearing as a result of taking Iyengar yoga classes, insisted that I start taking yoga classes as well. At that time, I had near constant headaches due to a very severe whiplash injury 10 years prior. I didn’t take to yoga immediately. Not a naturally limber person, I found it to be very difficult and rather painful. I stuck with it, though, because I could tell that things were changing. In spite of having 2 additional whiplash injuries, thanks to Iyengar yoga, my headaches are a thing of the past.
Although what drew me to yoga initially was the alleviation of physical pain, what keeps me engaged to this day is the depth and breadth of this complex subject. Not only is Iyengar yoga effective for alleviating suffering on a physical level, I believe it is also one of the most sophisticated tools for self discovery on psychological and spiritual levels as well. Yoga is as wide and deep as the ocean. You are welcome to come for a quick dip or a deep dive; either way, you will change your body and through the practice of yoga. Yoga is a language that communicates to the body that it has permission to evolve and heal. There is much joy to be found in the persistent practice of this transformative and noble healing art, science, and philosophy.
I became a certified Iyengar yoga teacher in 1995, and served as the Director of the BKS Iyengar Yoga Institute of Los Angeles from 1993 – 2005. I have traveled to India on numerous occasions to study with the Iyengar family. I had the immense privilege of being personally instructed by B. K.S. Iyengar on several occasions, most intensively during the photo shoot for the book, “Iyengar Yoga: The Path to Holistic Health,” in which I am featured.
I have appeared in “The Yoga Journal” both as a model and an author of a series of articles about the teaching of B.K.S Iyengar. I have taught yoga as part of a study conducted by the UCLA Pediatric Pain Program for teens and young adults with Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
In addition to my Iyengar yoga certification, I hold two Master’s Degrees from The University of Southern California – one in Communications Management, and the other in Gerontology.

If you have studied yoga privately, you know what a game changer having undivided attention can be. When you are the focus, you are free to focus completely. Our time together is spent on you – your personal practice, your specific needs, goals, and challenges.
Yoga classes are filled with students of varying levels of experience and ability, and this can slow your own progress, healing and ability to deepen the connection between you and your body. In my 26 years of experience I have seen how much of a difference focused personalized sessions make. If you are ready to accelerate your practice, body, healing, these sessions are for you.
I love having the opportunity to teach students individually and design customized yoga sequences that will be most beneficial for their overall wellbeing. I have been blessed with incredible teachers throughout my life, as well as in my 30 years as a student of yoga. I was fortunate to have been taught on several occasions by B.K. S. Iyengar himself. A perpetual student, in addition to my ongoing study of yoga, I have two Master’s Degrees and have spent countless hours accumulating knowledge about a host of other subjects. I combine all of these studies when I design a program that fits your body and your life. Your body is your teacher, your classroom, your vehicle, and your playground. Treat it well and have some fun! Your body – designed by the Creator and made by you.
Privates are offered via Zoom or in-person.
